Yes, I do. Now, you're 22 now, and, and you live in St. John. Yeah. Um, but before the vaccine, you were 16, you were in high school.

And you had no health problems?

No, I was, um, just a little bit overweight, but I was, uh, very active. Um, I love going outside. Um, I was always hanging out with— making plans with my friends, spending time with my family. Um, me and my stepdad, we love doing like adventures. Um, we like to try out new things. And he was my hiking buddy.

And you would hike and kayak and you were into soccer and volleyball and things like that?

I was into, um, volleyball, but I couldn't play much, uh, during the COVID pandemic because of the lockdowns. Um, but I loved playing soccer and volleyball on my own time. Um, I love kayaking. It's one, one of my favorite things to do. It's very peaceful being on the water. Um, I was very— I would say I was very outgoing.

Now, on June 17th, 2021, you have, um, your first shot.

Yep.

And then on September 20— and you, nothing really happened after your first shot?

Um, just a little sore arm, but I, it wasn't, it wasn't bad. It was, I didn't have any reaction.

On September 22nd, 2021, you have your second shot, a Pfizer shot. Can you share with us what happened after that?

I took my COVID vaccine because it was, it was mandatory in school. I felt very pressured to take the COVID-19 vaccine in order to, to do any like school events or like to join a sport I was planning to join the volleyball team in the wintertime. I needed a vaccine proof. I was also in the yearbook photography team taking pictures for the sport team. And in order for me to continue taking pictures, I needed my second shot.

And without it, I wouldn't be able to continue. So on September 2022, on the 2021, I mean, um, I, I went, my mom took me to a vaccine clinic and I remember it was very scary because there was, that was the day it became mandatory in New Brunswick clinic, and there was a long lineup outside of the clinic. There was people crying because they were scared of losing their job. There were kids scared, like they were crying, asking their mom, what are we doing here? And so yeah, I went inside and I was told to sign a piece of paper. I was rushed to sign the paper.

I don't know what it was. I didn't have time to read the paper. Once I signed it, they said, "Go to this table and you'll get your vaccination." So I went and sat at a table and I was never told any, like, possible side effects. I was only told I could have, like, a sore arm and maybe, like, a flu-like symptom for the next few days. But I was never told I could be severely injured and be in a wheelchair. As soon as I felt the injection going down, uh, going inside my arm, I felt the back of my neck going like very stiff. And, um, I was a bit like— the solution going down my arm, it felt very cold and heavy.

And After that, we were told to wait 15 minutes in the waiting area, and I was with my mom and we were waiting. And within like 10 minutes, I would say, I started having like a really big headache and some pins and I started feeling the tingly feeling at the bottom of both of my feet. And so I told my mom about what I'm feeling because she's a nurse and I never felt like I didn't have any of those feelings with my first vaccine. So I was a little concerned, you know, now. So I told my mom about it. And so she She immediately told one of the staff worker about my symptoms, and I was told to wait 10 more minutes.

So we waited more, and I was also told, like, if it gets worse, let them know again. My symptoms were not— like, my headache and the tingly feeling, it wasn't getting worse. But it wasn't getting any better, and I already had a long day at school, so I, I just told my mom, take me home, I'll just take a Tylenol and try to sleep it off. So she took me home.
