So, um, Michael, first of all, I'd like to thank you because I know in, in having discussions with you beforehand and that it's a lot for you to come here. And actually, you shared your story in a fantastic way. And, um, if I can just share something that you taught me— I didn't understand that when you're in the forces, you'll give your life for your fellow cultures, and you guys train together and you do things together and you're deployed together, and there's this trust. And you were trying to explain it to me, and I came to understand that one of the hardest parts for you was that system just— you became non-existent.

Your commanders didn't acknowledge knowledge that you were injured. The system just basically didn't take care of you. They broke this trust that soldiers have. So thank you for helping me to understand that.

My only comment would be is for the Canadian public to understand that the members of the Canadian Armed Forces swear an oath to the king to serve. And in that covenant is that they will always be taken care of when something goes wrong. And in the COVID era, and listening to Senator Johnson this morning, my theory that the Chief of Defense Staff knew how dangerous how dangerous Moderna was and he knew the risks that his troops were going to face for an infection that was not— they were not at risk for, was true. He knew months before he brought in that mandate of the destruction that he unleashed upon the Canadian Armed Forces.

And unfortunately, with the way the way that our Canadian system works, he will never face accountability for that. He is now retired. He's coming up to a year after his retirement. After a year of retirement, he is untouchable by the, the laws of the Canadian Armed Forces. And I don't believe that I could ever convince a Crown prosecutor to ever bring criminal charges, but the blood of many Canadian Armed Forces members and their families rests on his hands, and they rest on the current Chief of Defence Staff because she was a senior commanding officer. Even the Surgeon General told him not to do this, don't do this to the troops, and was ignored. His own chief medical officer. I don't know if we can ever possibly fix this.

Um, I can tell you that the federal court, when this was brought before them, treated it as a joke. It was funny to them. And I mean, I'm here because I can, I can tell these stories, and I would like to tell you that Mike's story isn't unusual and isolated, but it's not. I've talked to thousands of members and veterans that are vaccine injured. I know the stats don't— the official stats don't show the true number. I have medical doctors who served in the system who know, who are vaccine injured themselves, who were told, do not report this, report it as something else. It's been a massive cover-up. So I want to thank you for this inquiry, because the more it's talked about, the better off we are.

And I'm just going to I want to add, um, on behalf of Michael, that, um, he was speaking blood clots. He's put on blood thinners for years. He can no longer afford the blood thinners. And I just want to publicly state that I'm ashamed that in Canada we allow veterans that need blood thinners, we don't pay for them. I think something needs to be done.

And I'll make one final comment. Catherine, thank you for what you do representing our Armed Forces. And Michael, thank you for your service. And to all the other Canadian forces that may be in the room, we appreciate the ultimate sacrifice that you've made. And it is a complete and total slap in the face the way you've been treated and other veterans have been treated, and completely unacceptable. And I, I guarantee I I wonder how many people watching today would have any clue that this is the way our veterans are being treated. And we hear stories time and time again of people showing up and not offering help, but offering maid or whatever it is. And this is completely and totally unacceptable. And we have gotta break that cycle of silence that we can't have this conversation if no one knows it's going on. How do we deal with this issue? And so thank you for coming. Thank you for sharing. And I know how difficult it is, and I understand based on what you said, what Sean said, how you've been betrayed by the very country that you swore an oath to protect with your life.
