Dean Allison · 3:12:21
That was a scam, you know.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:12:25
I believe this is what— from my experience with it, it was designed just to give you a false hope. So you don't, you don't talk, you know, you always be like, okay, you— because I reached out to the MP at that time and she was a minister. She was— her name was Yarosack, you know, she reached out to the federal Minister of Health like they know about me. It's not that they don't know, but they cannot do anything. And at some point, even this, the staff in the office told me it's political. I think I mean, you know, but yeah, we did that vaccine injury support program. You should apply. I applied. I actually waited for almost like a year. I was lucky to get a very, you know, nice lawyer as well to help me out through the process. They rejected the case saying that the situation represents fibromyalgia and they had like 3 physicians who assist my case.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:13:26
So Daniel tried to appeal. They did not allow the appeal. They refused. And they, like a year later, somehow he managed to let them accept the appeals. So we were about like, yeah, okay, now we could request the documents from and see what they were working on actually, so we could submit an appeal for it. They send us the documents through the mail. And I was surprised that some of the documents that was sent to them was not my documents. It was my father's document. So they had the cardiologist at that time to assist my case. But I, I wasn't even aware that I have cardio, you know, like I wasn't even aware about the blood pressure situation goes up and down or the My heart rate goes to 180 and sometimes goes like 240.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:14:26
You know, I wasn't like, you know, the pain and fatigue was so severe that I was in bed. So I wasn't aware about how the heart feels because I was like, I was basically waiting. Maybe I'll die or something happened to me. I'm not sure. But like, I was in bed most of the time. So when we discovered that they were assessing my father's documents, you know, and they had a cardiologist in the case. I was like, okay, at that time I didn't, I, I didn't have any cardiologist appointments. Like, so how, how come did you guys like, you know, um, hire a cardiologist for it? Um, you don't get an answer. They start to respond back once every 4 months, quarterly.
Dean Allison · 3:15:12
I'm gonna, I have to catch up because I want to ask one more question. We're almost out of time. All right, so this rejected your claim. Is that correct? Yes. However, you were also one of the first people to be recognized under the Ontario Disability—.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:15:26
I believe I was the first one.
Dean Allison · 3:15:27
First one.
Dean Allison · 3:15:28
Yeah.
Dean Allison · 3:15:28
And the reason was what?
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:15:30
Post-COVID vaccination syndrome.
Dean Allison · 3:15:32
So, so think about that. BIS rejected, rejected your program, but you were the first person to be recognized under the OSTP. Was it OSTP? OSTP?
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:15:42
Yeah.
Speaker K · 3:15:43
Yeah, right.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:15:43
And they took me off of it.
Dean Allison · 3:15:45
Oh my goodness.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:15:47
And we had to fight back again.
Dean Allison · 3:15:49
You know, so things back on— it's like—.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:15:51
But, but, you know, but here's the thing. We appealed with this. 8 Or 7 months later, we saw the lawyer start reaching out to them like, hey, we sent you the studies.
Dean Allison · 3:16:03
This is—.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:16:03
There is a situation like that. It's not fibromyalgia. People are experiencing this kind of symptoms and it's a major disability. You can't do anything in your life. We need an answer. Where are you? Oh, oops, the case manager changed.
Dean Allison · 3:16:20
Yeah, you know, exactly.
Dean Allison · 3:16:21
That's the classical move.
Dean Allison · 3:16:22
So they try and worry you out by—.
Ken Drysdale · 3:16:24
Exactly.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:16:25
The case manager changed. So now where's the new one? The new one came after, you know, and we had to wait like for 4 months. And he came to us and saying, yeah, we were reviewing the documents, but we just realized that the the forms where, um, you know, you have to sign a form for, for the lawyer to represent you.
Dean Allison · 3:16:48
Yeah.
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:16:48
So we, we have— we just— we don't— we don't— we don't— we— I mean, he was fighting with them, with the government, for almost a year and a half.
Dean Allison · 3:16:56
Darwin, I, I hate— I hate to cut you off, you know. You were getting the run— you're saying you got the— you've got the runaround even from ODSP. So listen, I want to thank you for coming. Your, your story is very good, you know. And to my colleagues, we see someone at the end of the table that looks perfectly— you showed up, you're sitting down, it looks normal, and the challenges in your life have been almost insurmountable in terms of health. And that's, that's, that's, that, that's an issue that we have to address, right?
Dawood Al-Janaby · 3:17:22
It's like, you know, you're living in a 90-year-old body, you can't do much.
Dean Allison · 3:17:26
Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
Dean Allison · 3:17:30
But by the way, so nothing happened with the appeal, and, and we've got a— we're out of time for you, so That's, that was the thing. So we'll move on to it.
