Second-Dose Collapse: POTS, Whole-Body Nerve Pain and ER Cycle¶
Day 3 · 2:36:06 · Patricia Leidl · Dean Allison
- 倒下 One week after dose two she rose, collapsed with racing heart, facial/hand/foot swelling and shrieking neuropathic pain.
- 🚑 ER diagnosed new POTS, sent her home on tramadol and rate control; repeated visits blamed “long COVID” she did not have.
- 🧠 At one point staff called it a mental-health episode despite obvious physical swelling.
Sudden multi-system collapse mislabeled and minimized.

And what happened next was about a week after the second vaccine, I got up out of bed and I collapsed. And I collapsed with a racing heart. I felt my face. I had suddenly gotten very swollen. My hands were swollen, my feet were swollen. Every single nerve ending in my body seemed to be shrieking with pain. I had a migraine and I am not prone to migraines. And it was a sunny day. It was, you know, June 17th, very warm weather at that time, just preceding the heat dome that others have mentioned. And I could barely see because of the light in the room. It was just scorching my retinas. And I ended up crawling to the phone and I got a friend to call, take me to emergency.

So when you say you collapsed, I mean, you literally collapsed on the floor.

I fell over. I got out of bed and I fell over. And it was my tendons, but it was also just this unexpected pain, which I can, you know, in retrospect, I realized was a central nervous system neuropathic kind of pain. But I had never experienced anything like it before.

Okay, so you, you get to the phone.

I get to the phone, I get a friend to take me to emergency. And by that, at that point, I hadn't quite figured out that maybe there was a relationship with the vaccine. They did several tests. They found out that in fact I had POTS, which I had never heard of before, and they sent me home with some medication, some pain and medication like Tramadol, and I can't remember what the other medication was. It was to try and slow down my heart beating, and I went home and it just continued. And I— what followed was a series of, you know, visits to emergency wards. I did, after a few days, realize that I was suffering from the effects of a vaccine because it couldn't have been anything else. I had been perfectly healthy the week before. I kept on being told in emergency, oh, well, you've got long COVID. Well, you know, I hadn't had COVID. I didn't actually get COVID until 2 weeks— pardon me, 2 years afterwards.

And, you know, just what continued was this sort of terrible cycle of going into emergency, being, you know, told that I— at one point I was told that I was suffering from some sort of mental ill health episode. Even though at that point I had also swollen up. So I went from being about 130 pounds within the space of 2 months. I had bloated up to 200 pounds. I was like a— I puffed up like a cane toad.
