I loved life. At the time, I was a single mom. I had one child. I had just bought a house, and I was proud of that. And I was a hard worker. I raised four children. You raised four children alone, is that right? No, I wasn't fully alone. I was with the father of the oldest ones for 8 years. I was with the father of the youngest ones for 21 years, and now I'm happily married. You said that you love being in the kitchen, that you entertained at your home. Yes, I had a passion for cooking. And a passion for dancing.

As I said, I loved helping my community. I love being there for people. Service was what I loved. I offered customer service in my career. So when you received your vaccines, you worked as a security guard in vaccination clinics. And that's where you got your vaccinations? Yes, I live in the Upper Gatineau area. I'm originally from Gatineau, so there was one vaccination clinic available. It was in Maniwaki, and that's where I worked. I also worked at the hospital, at the long-term care home, and at the Metro grocery store. So when you were offered a dose or when you went to get vaccinated, what were you told about potential effects? Well, I was told I'd have a bit of redness at the site.

I was told I might have a bit of a fever. I was told I might have muscle pain. So localized. Yes, localized pain. And then what symptoms did you get? How long was it before you had symptoms? Well, after my dose. After which one? After the first dose, I had a bit of redness and local pain at the site. And then I started to feel sick. I had a fever, a runny nose. And after your second dose? I had muscle pains. Second dose was the same. Before being vaccinated, I had COVID.

I must apologize. So after your first dose, you told me earlier that you were very tired, that you had muscle pain, you had eye pain. Yes, I was sensitive to light. I was sensitive to neon lighting. I struggle with that. And you had troubled sleep. Yes, I had troubled sleep. And your doctor prescribed you muscle relaxants. Yes, I took medication for muscle relaxation and insomnia. But this— these were, uh, in rapid succession, many prescriptions.

And so after your third dose, why did you get to the third dose? Well, my employer required us to be fully vaccinated, so he or they required that our proof of vaccination be provided, and that involved 3 doses. And so at the time, you worked in a vaccination clinic, and the nurses told you, well, why don't you get it now because you're going to need it eventually, your employer will require it. Yes, that's how it worked. So we needed a full course of vaccination. We weren't offered the option of getting tested for COVID every 3 days. We were offered vaccination. That's it. I was a single mom. I had a child. I just bought a home and I couldn't afford to lose the job that I had. So I did get vaccinated. It was an obligation for me.
