They always ignore the risk and overstate the benefit, and people need to understand that. Can I ask myself my own question here? Because we're You know, you got to understand the lies we've been told and how they use the expert. So in one of our hearings, I think this is the one where my ranking member went out— this might have been that Voice of the Vaccine Injured, where my ranking member went out and did a press conference about an hour before the hearing. And again, these are parents of children who are either autistic, they, you know, became autistic very rapidly after a vaccine or die to SIDS or whatever. Okay, they're telling true stories. Okay, ranking member goes out to the media and says, don't pay attention to this hearing, it's not credible, it's not worth your attention. Okay, but in that hearing, he trotted out the, uh, the Commonwealth Fund study on the COVID-19 vaccine.

Vaccine and how I've got it right here. This is a study, is conducted by— I won't name their names, but faculty for the Center of Vaccine Development, University of Maryland, professor of applied mathematics and computational epidemiology at York University, a research science scientist in epidemiology, Yale School of Public Health, and the founding director of Yale Center for Infectious Disease. Now these, these are heavy hitters, right? These are learned members from the, from academia. They claimed from their study, doing their mathematics, all their complex, that the COVID-19 vaccine saved 3.2 million lives in 2021 and 2022. So I'm, I'm chairman of the committee, I'm listening to, again, my ranking member denigrate the hearing, denigrate my witnesses, and he trots out study. So I put together 3 slides to show what rubbish the study is.

So the first slide, it's up here right now. The, the solid blue, those are actual deaths per year dating back to, uh, 20— I think it's 2020, not 2010, I'm sorry. So up through 2019, you see the compounded annual growth rate. These are deaths in the United States, some total mortality in the United States, you know, rising slowly by a little less than 1% a year to about 2.9 million people dying the year before the pandemic. Okay, now if it would continue to go, you know, 1% growth, that's the, the, the hatchmarked chart just shows you what deaths would have been. Next chart shows actual deaths. So you can see in, in 2020, increased by half a million deaths. I mean, something obviously happened. You know, there, there was coronavirus. I know some people denied— I mean, I think there was. Okay, I don't know how many of those deaths were really associated to that with just the way we shut down hospitals, we didn't diagnose cancers.

I mean, there's all kinds of things happening in 2020 that produce half a million more deaths in the U.S. So you assume in 2021, once we start the mass vaccination campaign, if worked, the deaths would've actually declined, but they didn't. They increased to 3.4 million and still were above that, that, you know, normalized line in 2021 or in 2022. So again, how, how do you get 3.2 million lives saved versus the actual results? Well, here's how they do it. You'd have to assume you were gonna go from 2.9 million deaths in 2019, the year of the pandemic without a vaccine, where— I hate to use the word— we killed the herd. I mean, the most vulnerable people died in 2020, right? You'd have to assume we were going to go from 2.9 to 3.4 to 5 million deaths in both 2021 and 2022 to come up with— you save 3.2 million Lies.

Now again, I'm not a mathematician, I'm an accountant. I can do— there is, there is no way based on the actual data. But yet you've got experts, credentialed experts, publishing a rubbish study like this that then a U.S. Senator is using a hearing to denigrate the vaccine injured. No, no, this— I mean, these vaccines, the, the inject— the COVID injection, this, this saved 3.2 million lives. What, what are you talking about, Senator Johnson? No, it didn't. So now extrapolate this to all the other studies. I, I don't know what the truth is. I know that's a lie. There's no way that this Commonwealth Fund study is accurate. It's rubbish. But it's the experts, just like the experts that told us to wear masks, 6 feet distancing, vaccinate your 6-month-old child.
